Welcoming Madalynn

Madalynn was born October 25, 2008 at 6:45 a.m. at Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, KS. She weighed 7 lbs 3 oz and was 20.5 inches long. She is growing fast, at nearly 10 pounds by week 4. She looks like Hayden (which he secretly LOVES to hear). It is funny how quickly you forget how much work infants can be. You also forget how little sleep you need to actually function!

We have made it to Kansas!

We made it to Leavenworth, KS July 14, but let me take a moment to recap our journey. Our last night in NH was extra special - we were treated to a traditional New England dinner of lobster. This was an experience for me. I had never cracked or pulled out my own lobster before! Our first stop on our journey from East to Midwest was Hershey, PA. The boys loved Chocolate World and the pool at the Days Inn. The pool was perfect for little ones, the rest of the hotel had much to be desired. We then traveled from PA to Charleston, WV followed by Clarksville, TN. The drive was beautiful through PA, MD, and WV. From Clarksville we headed North to IN and spent two days with my cousins. We had lots of fun hanging out and splashing around at a water park in IN. From there we went to my parents house in MO. The boys had a blast on the farm. They rode four-wheelers, horses, went fishing, and played in mud nearly everyday. The boys stayed in MO for two weeks, while B and I went on a cruise from Miami to the Bahamas and Key West. It was a nice break and a chance to reconnect without constant distraction.

Our "relaxation" was short lived. Shortly upon our return we headed to Leavenworth and met with the moving truck. Ahhhhh! All of our stuff coming off the truck is overwhelming. We keep tossing things so we won't have so much to go through next time. B joked that by the time we retire we will have nothing but a ruck sack each!

We are slowly but surely getting our home put together so that it resembles a home and not a storage building. The boys and I miss our friends. I am hoping Hayden will make some new friends at a VBS next week. When we have pics of the house we will post them.

We've made it to Missouri!

We traveled across 11 states and finally arrived at my parents house late Monday evening. The boys have been on the run since we arrived. Yesterday they rode the new four wheeler my father had bought them and went fishing. Logan caught the biggest catch by mistake! He had reeled in a small perch and threw it back in without taking it off the line. A bass chased it and latched on. Logan's pole was too small to hold the bass and he eventually got away. When I find the cord to upload pics from our camera, I will be sure to post them. We miss everyone in New England! Love to all.

June 16, 2008

The boys survived their first deep sea fishing adventure with B and Mr. Murch. They set sail at 6:30 p.m. catching 40 to 50 fish. The boys were in a contest to see who would reel in the biggest fish. B, I mean L won. After sailing the high seas, ( Ha! Ha!) they settled into a small cabin on Hampton Beach. I was told they "safely" enjoyed jumping from the top bunk down onto a second bed. Of course H, did come home with a scratch and bump on his left temple. The boys really enjoyed their last boys weekend together. With any luck they will always remember these moments.
